Background of the Study
Healthcare marketing has evolved as an essential strategy for private hospitals to attract and retain patients in a competitive market. Effective marketing strategies not only improve hospital visibility but also enhance patient satisfaction and trust (Kumar & Sharma, 2024). In Taraba State, private hospitals play a critical role in supplementing public healthcare services, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas. However, the effectiveness of their marketing strategies in influencing patient decisions and building brand loyalty remains underexplored.
With the growing demand for specialized care and the rise of health-conscious consumers, healthcare providers in Taraba State are adopting various marketing techniques, including digital advertising, community outreach, and patient education programs (Adekunle et al., 2025). This study evaluates the effectiveness of these strategies and identifies opportunities for improving healthcare marketing in private hospitals.
Statement of the Problem
Private hospitals in Taraba State face challenges in patient acquisition and retention due to limited awareness of their services, competition from public hospitals, and a lack of robust marketing strategies. Many hospitals fail to leverage modern marketing tools, resulting in missed opportunities to connect with potential patients (Garba & Musa, 2023).
This study evaluates the healthcare marketing strategies employed by private hospitals in Taraba State, assessing their effectiveness in achieving patient satisfaction, loyalty, and overall service utilization.
